The great outdoors has always been a focal point of our ethos for Comms Unplugged and we’re make the most of the stunning location for our Scottish event.
As always it’s about the importance of nature and preserving our awesome environment as well as the positive effects it has on our mental health and emotional wellbeing.
It wouldn’t be Comms Unplugged without a mindful nature walk and this year we’ve teamed up original unplugger Saranne Postans and RSPB expert Emma Martinelli to help calm our minds and teach us about the local flora and fauna as we go for a guided wander from our venue at Auchengillan.
Saranne Postans has been passionate about nature since childhood, when her happiest days were spent playing in the stream in the village she grew up in or building dens in the fields with her friends. Over the last decade she has explored the positive impact of nature on mental health and wellbeing, taking people outside to walk and talk and immersing herself (literally!) in the world of open water swimming, all year round.
Saranne is also co-founder and director of C3 Communications, a consultancy providing strategic communications and engagement support to big infrastructure and energy projects in the UK.
Emma Martinelli is Visitor Experience Manager based at RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond. Emma has working for the RSPB for more than 12 years and her main responsibilities are organising and running events, education, people engagement and promotion of the site and the conservation work.
RSPB Loch Lomond sits within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park on the south eastern shores of the loch. The variety of habitats and the seasonal wildlife found there make it a fantastic place for both nature and people. Highlights include summer Ospreys and wildflower filled meadows and wintering geese with stunning landscapes as a backdrop.
