It’s estimated that over 40% of UK crime is cyber-crime so it’s a big issue and comms pros will inevitably get involved in responding to it for their organisations.
So what do we do when cyber-criminals come calling? We’ll learn more in this fascinating workshop led by 3×1’s media strategist Graham McKendry and Network Rail’s (formerly SEPA’s) Head of Strategic Communications Martin Grey (also a co-organiser of Comms Unplugged Scotland).
They’ll share the inside story of Scotland’s highest-profile cyber-attack – the Christmas Eve 2020 hack on the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) – and the lessons learned from a crisis response praised by Audit Scotland, Police Scotland, and others.
Graham is delighted to represent 3×1, our first ever scholarship sponsors, and be part of our exciting programme. He said: “Comms Unplugged is a first for Scotland’s vibrant communications community and we hope our support offers some more industry colleagues the opportunity to experience it.
“Professional development and personal wellbeing are two sides of the same coin, and CU’s unique approach brings people together to grow, learn and connect in a completely different environment. We can’t wait to be in the field with Scotland’s best public, private and third sector comms pros.”
