– 7 of 7: We never give to receive … do we? –

In the five steps to wellbeing the fifth step is give. We are all taught from a young age you don’t give to receive. Whilst technically this is true with some of the amazing raffle prizes on offer I can guarantee you’ll be giving your money in the hope of receiving one of them.

Fear not though. All the money you generously give is going towards two fantastic, local charities – Dorset Mind and Dorset Wildlife Trust. Both of these charities embrace the Comms Unplugged vision in very different ways.

Dorset Wildlife Trust aims to enrich people’s lives through securing the future of Dorset’s wildlife, ensuring we can keep active and connect to our fantastic surroundings, whilst Dorset Mind promote support and recovery from mental health problems emphasising the importance of wellbeing and helping people regain theirs.

Having been heavily involved in fundraising in the past I was more than happy to get stuck in when the team asked me to help organise the charity raffle for Comms Unplugged. Collecting raffle prizes was a new challenge after bungee jumping and climbing Kilimanjaro!

So what’s on offer? If you’ve been keeping an eye on Twitter you’ll have caught a sneak peak of some of the great prizes but just to whet your appetite we have:

– 2 x CIPR annual membership
– 2-night glamping experience
– a 3 or 4 night stay in a Bournemouth Beach Lodge worth up to £650!
– £100 bar tab at Be At One cocktail bar
– Some great hampers, local food and drink from across Dorset – and gin, lots of gin!

It really doesn’t matter what your passion is, we’ve got a prize to suit everyone – and there’s even the chance to win a Comms Unplugged hoodie!

If that doesn’t get you splashing the cash for our good causes, I don’t know what will!
