Our taster takes place in the pretty village of Balmaha, one of the most popular locations in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Set on the east side of the iconic Loch Lomond and at the foot of Conic Hill on the famous West Highland Way, it offers stunning woodlands, water and mountains. We’ll also be using the centre’s fabulous outdoor classroom space (weather permitting!) to maximise our time in nature and truly unplug!
Date: 30th May 2019
In 2018 we ran our first taster event in Dorset to help people understand how being outdoors, unplugging from your phone and connecting with like-minded peers from your own line of work can have real benefits. Now we’re spreading the idea around the country, giving you the time and space to quiet your mind and switch off the day-to-day ‘noise’ of life. This will help you to see things differently and focus on solving an issue you bring with you. Getting to know your fellow attendees and working together to support each other, you’ll get a real feel for what our kind of ‘unplugging’ is all about.

Joanne Ford (right) is Communications Manager, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
Proud Unpluggers since 2017, Anna and Joanne hold the record for the furthest miles travelled to get to ‘The Field’: 500 miles as the Proclaimers might proclaim. Bringing a mix of experience across advertising, design, brand marketing, journalism and PR, Anna and Joanne make an awesome double act within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park’s Communications team. Ambitious, curious, fun and big believers in the importance of wellbeing, Comms Unplugged opened this duo up to an awesome network of like-minded, talented souls who are dedicated to the #CommsForGood cause.
Travel and parking
Free parking is available in Balmaha car park right outside the Visitor Centre but please note that spaces can fill up quickly so we would encourage car sharing wherever possible.
It’s possible to get to Balloch, Loch Lomond by train directly from Glasgow Queen Street. If you plan to arrive by train let us know and we will arrange for you to get a lift to Balmaha.
